I tried out these hearing aids at home. At first, I experienced audio feedback noise upon testing. As per the instructions that came with the hearing aids, I turned the volume control down, and this eliminated the issue for me. My hearing loss is mild and in one ear only. People with moderate hearing loss may not experience this issue.

I live in a busy city, and found these hearing aids to be top-notch at reducing ambient noise. Speech clarity was great, even when I was with a large friend group in a noisy coffee shop.

Another initial issue for me was the length of the receiver wires that deliver sound into the ear canal. I found these to be short and require pulling. Even so, I was able to insert them into my ear canals, and they were comfortable. If, like me, you wear glasses, make sure to put your hearing aids on first. This will help with sizing and insertion.

I wore these hearing aids to the gym, and really enjoyed the dedicated music mode feature. The sound was resonant and delightful. These hearing aids are also easy to use while taking phone calls.

ELEHEAR App

I have an iPhone, so I downloaded the app through the App Store. ELEHEAR hearing aids are also available for Android. The app sent a code to my phone that I typed in. This was so easy compared to the licensing agreement process usually required by other hearing aid apps.

After syncing, the app immediately connects your hearing aids to Bluetooth. A tutorial then comes on that instructs you on how to wear the hearing aids, and to use the volume control and noise reduction feature.

The app gives you the option of bright-to-deep sound quality, what we typically refer to as treble and bass. It also has a tinnitus soundscape feature that lets the wearer choose between background sounds, like white noise, rain, birds, waterfall, crickets, and more.

Other handy features include translation for other languages, and a settings expectations feature for new hearing aid users. There’s also a settings screen for volume, speech enhancement, tuning, noise reduction, and phone call boosting.
