Moving can be stressful and overwhelming for seniors, especially for those experiencing memory loss. The option to stay in the same facility filled with familiar staff and residents can alleviate some of those stressors.

Restaurant-style dining is available, though room service is also offered when residents feel like staying in. This is a pet-friendly community and it features a dog park. For residents who may not have their own pets, pet therapy sessions provide a chance to interact with pets. We’re big fans of this, as pet therapy offers benefits like decreased stress levels, pain, fatigue, anxiety, and isolation.3

Similar to Touchmark at Fairway Village, Cogir at the Quarry offers a continuum of care with independent living, assisted living, and memory care services. Staff is on-site 24/7, and the community uses emergency call systems to help keep residents safe. While a nurse is on-site, the community doesn’t offer visiting physician or on-site physical therapy appointments. If these types of services are important, then you may want to look into a community like Van Mall.

Most reviews of Cogir at the Quarry are quite positive. Numerous family members said that their parents thrived in this community. One reviewer called Cogir at the Quarry “life-saving” for his father, who is a resident. Reviews often praise the quality of the food and state that staff are friendly and helpful. The community even has coordinated hospice care and short-term retreat stays. Unlike some of the other communities on our list, Prestige Senior Living Bridgewood doesn’t offer memory care. If you worry that your loved one may be experiencing signs of predementia, consider other options on this list, including Cogir at the Quarry or Touchmark at Fairway Village.
