Richard is the CEO of APlan2Age.org, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping families navigate the complexities of aging and care. He brings more than 45 years of diverse business and leadership experience to this work.
Richard entered the senior care industry through personal experience. He and his wife began caring for three parents simultaneously, and later a fourth. That caregiving journey spanned 14 years and began while their two children were just 11 and 7 years old.
He has appeared on both local and national television and radio, speaking on the challenges and realities of aging and caregiving. Richard has taught “Elder Ed” to families, professionals, organizations, and businesses across the country, and has authored numerous articles on aging, care, and planning. He has also built a national consortium within the elder care industry that now exceeds 40,000 professionals.
Richard is the host of Caring in America, a national podcast for caregivers and care recipients.
Earlier in his career, Richard worked in the legal field and went on to lead multiple trust companies. In addition, he held senior management roles in the high-technology sector, including contributing to Macrovision's growth to more than $200 million in revenue. Richard is an active member of numerous senior-focused organizations and has served on multiple boards of directors.
