So what does it cost to live in Omaha? The overall cost of living is 10% below the national average. Nebraska has a combined average state and local tax burden of 6.7%. Omaha senior living is a little higher than average: a one-bedroom in an assisted living facility averages $3,848 a month (national average is $3,250), according to a Genworth Financial survey on long-term care.
